Wedesday, 12 August 2026 - The day we had been waiting for - the total solar eclipse. We set up at the Lóndrangars in miserable weather, with rain gear covering us and our cameras. We waited hopefully for the clouds to break, but the rain never stopped. We felt the darkness of the eclipse, but never saw it. A heartbreaking end to the day.

The big day - a full solar eclipse. The weather continued to look grim.

iceland2026 — This picture of Snæfellsjökull was taken just off my room patio. The clouds were high and might break. Hope.

iceland2026 — At the Lóndrangars we found room to set up our tripods. But the weather was not good at all.

We were all in rain gear and the cameras were all under rain covers.

iceland2026 — A bit bored I tried a few pictures at very long (15 seconds) shutter speeds. to slow the motion of the water. Like with the waterfalls the water becomes fuzzy.
