We started off on a new experience. Dropped off early in a Rabani village, we simply wandered
about looking
for pictures in a small village. It was quite a sight - 6 photographers with large
cameras
and large lenses. I am sure we were intimidating.
Getting the village Sanada / Mandal ready for the new day
Little boys, curious about the strangers
Blue writing on a blue wall
There was a chill in the air as we walked the village
A house getting up - preparing bread in the courtyard

She was very talkative

We then drove a short distance to Ambla another small village where there was a lot of activity
around a lake and the village well.
Several women were washing pots at a nearby lake
Women getting watter at the local well
Walking home with a full pot of water
After lunch we traveled to salt flats to see locals gathering salt.
On the way we saw the famous Wild Ass
The land was a vast desert that had been covered in water but now had baked into a
land of cracked dry mud
A footprint in the dried mud
A woman rakes a salt pond "cultivating" salt. The wooden rake collects the salt from the bottom
of the pond where it settles.
Leaving the salt flats area our driver spotted a small feline - it looked like a very large
house
cat. Instead, it was a Desert Cat - which are very rare, our driver said he had only seen
one other time in his life.
A kingfisher looks over a pond
An Indian Roller eats a grasshopper
Then on to the next village - Metasar where Bharavd people live.
This guy was the first person we ran into - a colorful
character in a colorful house.
A construction worker on a nearby home - looks over to see what the commotion is all about.
These pails are empty - but still an impressive skill
Girls with pots
I am not sure of the relationship here - but this guy was very proud of the ladies behind him.
Lots of cigarette usage.
The women all dressed so colorfully
An old lady breaks twigs for cooking
Getting a haircut
The homes had such wonderful doors
An old door
A little girl practices using her head
Color everywhere when the laundry is drying
An odd contraption - a motorcycle with two wheels on the back and then decorated in the style of
India.
A woman and her cow in her courtyard
A big buffalo - and not too friendly
Bharvad woman
All in white
A woman enjoys a pipe
Very proud woman
A woman washing her hands
Nice moustache
Because we were so obvious moving through the village it was hard to capture someone not posing.
I was
able to capture this woman as she was focused on the group photographing the man with the
nice moustache.
