Fall Photography Trip in North Carolina


Thursday, 21 October 2010 - Traveled to Dry Falls, then hiked and took pictures along the Cullasaja River, wandered around Cliffside Lake, and ended the day at the Whiteside Overlook for the Bear Shadow.

We started the day by driving a short way to Dry Falls.

Dry Falls is a very frequented waterfall due to its beauty, ease of access, and the fact that you can walk under the falls and stay dry - hence the name.

When we visited there was not a lot of water in the Cullasaja River, so the falls were delicate.

We then traveled down the Cullasaja River looking for good spots to get out an explore.

A new technique for Cal - a star burst effect created by stopping down the aperture to very small and shooting into the sun.

At the end of the day we headed up to Whiteside Mountain Overlook to snap a picture of the 'Bear' shadow on the forest below.
