Little Bat in Highlands, North Carolina

On a walk near Harris Lake our little beagle, Riley, stopped and was sniffing a fence post. I commanded (asked) her to move on and then looked where she had been sniffing. It was a bat - I think an Evening Bat. He was hanging on a very low fence post on a few feet over the ground. It rained the next night and the next day he was back - but very wet. Very odd - I have not seen a bat in the open like this one. I could not get his face as he was too low and had a wing in the way.
