We have been busy the last six months rewriting the Cal and VA website. Virginia Ann said it was too stale, it was written in 2001 so she has a point. New technologies, for Cal, and a focus on mobile viewing. Now the site renders on a cell phone in a format that is useable - also still great on a computer. Hope you enjoy the site - and let me know if you have any issues or suggestions so we can improve.
Early in the summer Riley posed on our patio for a series of great pictures.
Cal went on an 10 day photography adventure to eastern California where he visited the Eastern Sierras mountains and Death Valley. Lots of pictures of sand duns. A beautiful part of the United States.
Then in early 2025 Cal and Virginia Ann went with several friends from Highlands, NC on a cruise to New Zealand and Australia. The 17 day cruise was bookended by several days in Auckland, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia. New Zealand was beautiful, and we were on a small ship, therefore, we were able to visit several small ports. We were also able to see penguins, kangaroos, and kolas in the wild.
During the middle of summer Cal went on a photography workshop to Alaska to photograph Grizzly Bears. It was a lot of fun and great photo oppertunities. Cal even spent a night camping out on the Alaska tundra surrounded by an electric fence.
In Highlands we celebrated the 4th of July. Cal had fun creating abstract portraits of the fireworks. Mom spent several weeks in the North Carolina Mountains Cal, mom, and Riley would walk around the town for some excercise. There is a nice bench in downtown Highlands where we would sit down and people watch. Here we are on the bench.
On our walks we would pass ACE Hardware. Riley loved to go inside as they have plenty of treats and loved to pet her. We would walk on Sunday when the store was closed and little Riley could not undeerstand why the doors would not open..
We took a trip to New York City for a wedding of one of Virginia Ann's college friends daughters. It was a nice 4 day trip. We stayed in the lower part of the island and walked around the city. It was a fun trip - with some nice street photographs
