Today we would drive about Grand Teton National Park.
As we headed out of the park we stopped at the Church Of The Transfiguration - an active Episcopal church
with a great view.
Just outside the park is the 4-5 structures comprising Moose, WY. Seemed the appropriate name as our stay lengthened
we saw
a moose practically every time we drove by. Today as
we left the park, we saw cars pulled over and followed the example. There was a big moose walking from the
Snake River toward the road. He was moving slowly.
The moose walked very close. The Park Rangers were keeping people back - over their radios I heard that the
Secret Service wanted the road cleared - immediately we were asked to get in our cars and off the shoulder.
Joe googled and discovered that Melania Trump was visiting the park and several locations were closed.
We headed up to Mormon Row - several old structures built by the Mormons in the 1800s. I wanted to photograph the
buildings on the North side of the road, but we ran into a Park Ranger and a black suburban who said the North
side was closed, and we could visit the South side. I complained that I wanted to "shoot" the North side,
and the Secret service guy said I used a poor choice of words.
This is the South side barn with the Grand Tetons in the background.
We went looking for bears - did not find any but did see beautiful scenery.
A meadow in the back country.
Aspens.
More color.
Jackson Lake and the Grand Tetons on the right. It was an overcast day.
Mt Moran peaking out from the clouds.
The group was a little tired of me stopping the car to take pictures of the beautiful trees. But the vistas were
so pretty.
