We landed in Jackson Hole, rented a car, and headed toward Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park.
It was a very cloudy day with light rain. We could not see any of the Grand Tetons.
As we entered Yellowstone we were not too far along when we spotted this huge elk sitting in a meadow.
We jumped out of the car - I had to get my camera out of the travel backpack and assemble it before I
could join the group.
The big elk simply sat there and watched the tourists but did not seem bothered by them. By the time we
left there were 20-25 cars parked on the side of the road.
We stopped at Kepler Cascades on the Firehole River which is near Old Faithful Inn.
After a long day of travel we arrived at the Old Faithful Inn in time to see Old Faithful geyser erupt
prior to dark. Hard to get a good picture as it was a pouring/cloudy day.
