Sunday, June 23, 2019 - Once back in Paris, our base was in the charming area of St Germain at a
Virtuosso property. We toured the D'Orsay Museum, the Muse de Invalides and took a hop-on/hop-off bus tour around
Paris. Cal and Elizabeth went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. We were lucky in that the FIFA women's soccer
matches were going on at stadiums in Paris and around France so once we settled back into the hotel in the
afternoons and got to watch the playoffs. Both the U.S. and French teams were in the finals.
The Musee d'Orsay was our first stop in Paris.
Scale statue model of the Statue of Liberty by the French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904) greets you in
the Musee d'Orsay entrance.
The Musee d'Orsay Clock by Victor Laloux in the Main Hall - has been there since the building was a train
station.
The views behind the "clock" on the 5th floor of the museum - is the Basilica of the Sacre Coeur.
A wing of the Louvre Museum.
Art on the wall - below a plaque remembering a member of the French Resistance who was captured and killed by the
Germans.
Your standard statue in a niche on a Parisian street.
Door in Paris. We walked from the museum back to the hotel with a stop for ice cream on the way.
