We started the day visiting the National Library of Bhutan.
It is interesting as it is also a temple so
they can house the religious text here. So you have to take your shoes off to enter the library.
Bhutan flag features the Thunder Dragon. Yellow symbolizes the authority of the king, white represents purity
and loyalty, while orange is symbolic of the Drukpa monasteries.
We visited the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, a trade school of sorts where students learned how to carve,
paint, and sculpt. Here a student is carving a wooden mask.
Students spend six years honing their skills in wood work, embroidery, sculpture, or painting so that
they become an artisan to contribute to Bhutan's native culture.
Sculptures in various states during the learning process.
