Wednesday, 15 October 2008 - A long first day with several stops for great fall pictures, like Whiteside Mountain, Old Iron Bridge, and some night photography.
The moon continues to attract the camera.
We spent the morning at a lake off Whiteside Cove Road. Whiteside Mountain with its granite
rock face is in the background.
Cal setting up on the lake - taken by the instructor, Mark HHutchison
The water was so calm that the reflections were picture perfect.
A dock surrounded by beautiful trees.
The granite rock face of Whiteside Mountain in the fall setting.
We then moved along to the Old Iron Bridge (not sure that is the exact name).
The Chattooga River and cascades near the bridge.
New 10mm lens and the Iron Bridge over the Chattooga River.
Wide angle is hard to use well.
Pretty trees and a cloudless sky.
We then drove to the Whiteside Mountain Overlook to see if there was any color on
the mountain.
The colorful trees surrounding the granite rocks on the mountain side.
All of our tripods lined up to capture the shadow phenomenon which looks like a bear.
After dinner Mark took us to the Highlands Biological Station for some pictures
at night. We could not believe we would get anything in the dark - but leaving
the shutter open for a long time made the night into day.
