Sunday, 22 May 2022 - Traveled from Amber Mountain toward the port, walked around a local fishing village of Amoronjia-Orangea capturing street and shoreline scenes, saw a chameleon along the road and stopped for photos, wandered among fishing boats and kids enjoying the water, explored French Hill and photographed baobab trees, interesting cactus-like plants, velvet day geckos, and village scenes, then drove back to Diego Suarez for the night.
Once again the drivers spotted a chameleon as we traveled down the road - we pulled over and all jumped out
to take pictures of this
little lizard.

We arrived in the fishing village of Amoronjia-Orangea where we wandered about before lunch to take street
scenes.
This little girl was walking up the street toward me as we started out.
Glass used on top of a fence is much prettier than barbed wire.
A small boutique on the street.
A fishing village - so lots of boats.

This little boy was helping with the boat scrapping until we showed up with cameras then he
started working the camera.

The walk on French Hill was for whatever we might find but the big draw was Baobab trees.
Here are the top branches poking out of the smaller forest trees.
Two more of the trees found only on Madagascar.
Very interesting cactus like plants with spines called a Pachypodiuym Tree.
Another Baobab trees with their distinctive trunk and branches.
A Velvet Day gecko on a tree trunk.
The Velvet Day gecko from the side, notice how his eyes blend with this coloring.
A caterpillar - maybe for a moth - note the red eyes.

A small foothill at French Mountain.
Pretty aloes growing in the foothills.
A wasp nest in a tree at 6 feet - so close to the trail and low - could be dangerous.
We then drove back to Diego Suarez which had a New Orleans French feeling.
The night was spent in Diego Suarez and the next morning we flew out.
