After a quick bite at 0600 we headed out in open jeeps on safari.
It was cold, so we were adorned with blankets and hot water bottles. We went on two

We saw a lot of birds and animals. A lot of monkeys

Mugger crocodile is sunning on the lake shore - there were several of these throughout the park's lakes/ponds.
Monkeys covering the road - they let us through
One of the gates to the park - this was the only dramatic entrance the rest were simply dirt roads.
Blue Peacock, the national bird of India, were everywhere.
A tiger!!!! Our only sighting for the day and it was in the high grass. Still quite a commotion as all the
safari jeeps tried to get a good line of sight.
Tiger food - beautiful antlers
While we waited for a tiger we watched this little red-legged bird look for fish or insects in the marsh.
This is a Black-winged Stilt.
Another marsh bird looking for food - this is a Purple Heron
A Pied kingfisher hoovered several times before diving into the lake. He was hard to catch before diving
but I was able to get a few good photographs.
On the road back to the camp we followed several goats along a dusty road.
