Up and out on a Seabourn excursion visiting two wineries. Waiheke Island is known for its
wine.
The first winery is Te Moru Vineyard, established in 1980, they are one of the pioneering
vineyards on the island.
The vines have fine nets protecting the grapes from birds.
The next winery was Goldie Estate, also one of the oldest, opened in 1978.
The bark from a Cork Tree, not used anymore, but a nice feature in the winery.
Vines stretching up a hill toward a huge tree at the top of the hill.
Vines with the green waters surrounding Waiheke Island.
Virginia Ann and Cal at the Goldie Estate.
The view from the top of the hill.
The huge tree at the top of the hill was very photogenic.
Beautiful view of the small harbor inside Putiki Bay.
Grapes of the Goldie Estate. They look ripe?
After the winery tour dropped us off at the dock, Virginia Ann went back to the ship for a spa treatment
she had won. Cal went on a short coastal hike along the Matiatia Walk trail.
Our ship in the bay is pretty tiny.
Emerald green water along the coastal cliffs.
Curious small cove with small beach.
The water is so pretty.
Islands in the distance, there are several islands in the distance, this might be Rakino Island.
Clear green water along a larger beach.
The water became choppy after turning past a small peninsula.
Rough coastal cliffs.
Rocks along the beach.
A rocky point into the bay.
More green water.
Beautiful cove beach.
An Australian Pied Cormorant standing in a small beach area.
